TRENTON – A prisoner
from the South
Carolina State Prison in Trenton escaped Sunday night just after 11:30
pm. All area law enforcement agencies were alerted to be on the lookout
for the escapee.
Johnny Moore, 26, is described as a white male, 5’ 8” tall with black
hair
and brown eyes weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan SCDC
uniform and has
tattoos on both arms, one containing a skull.
Moore should be suffering from bleeding wounds received when he
went over the back fence surrounding the prison on the side facing
Windy Ridge Road.
SLED was notified and bloodhound teams from SLED and the Edgefield and
Aiken County Sheriff's Offices were on the scene as well as
a helicopter.
Moore is from the Greenville area and may be trying to make his
way back to familiar territory.
Edgefield County Sheriff Adell Dobey, Sheriff's Deputies and
Investigators, along with officers from Edgefield, Johnston, and
Trenton Police Departments responded to the scene. The South Carolina
Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office were also called
to help set up a perimeter of the area
in an effort to capture the escapee.
