DES Starts a Book Club

web posted October 19, 2018

101918DES
TRENTON - Douglas Elementary School has formed a book club for its fifth grade girls and its fifth grade boys. The two clubs meet monthly and are facilitated by Shannon Petty, the media specialist.

Students will enjoy refreshments, participate in discussions and complete activities regarding the book at the monthly meeting. Students also will participate in an online forum throughout the month via Google Classroom.

Ms. Petty stated “Book clubs are a wonderful way for students to form partnerships in reading, collaborate and share in the joy of exploring a book together.” Students will also be able to keep the book that they receive each month due to a generous donation from the Layman family.
