Church Discovers Burglary Wednesday

web posted April 15, 2011

TRENTON – Another church was targeted by thieves on Wednesday, but this time it was not the HVAC units they were after. A church member arrived at the New and Living Way Church on the 3300 block of Highway 19 around 6 pm and found a storage shed burglarized and $2,200 in equipment stolen.

Taken was a $1,500 riding mower and a $700 generator. The model and related information was not available.

According to an incident report, the burglary took place between Friday, April 8 and Wednesday when it was discovered. The report did not state if there was any evidence collected.

Six other area churches have been targeted for thefts of HVAC units since late January, the most recent less than a week ago, leaving over $60,000 in damages.
