Ribbon Cutting Held at STCC Cosmetology Academy

JOHNSTON – Strom Thurmond Career Center officially opened the Academy of Cosmetology with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on April 21, 2011. STCC Director Mr. Willie Green extended a welcome to all guests. Cosmetology student Janette Upson gave program high lights of the new course offering for the career center. Ms. Jackie Kennion, Interim Cosmetology Instructor, made special presentations to Dr. Mary R. Crenshaw, Superintendent for her dedication and insight into the establishment of the cosmetology program. 

Ms. Kennion also presented a plaque to Mr. Willie Green for his support of the program.
   
Dr. Mary R. Crenshaw, Superintendent stated, “We are indeed proud of this new course addition to our curriculum and very proud of the facility that will house all cosmetology instruction.” Reverend Clifford Williams blessed the facility. Taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony were: Mrs. Sallie Cooks, member of the Edgefield County Board of Trustees, Mr. Willie Green, Career Center Director, Mrs. Donna Livingston, Director Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Jackie Kennion, Instructor and Dr. Mary R. Crenshaw, Superintendent.
