Grant Rutland Throws Perfect Game! Rebels Rout Saluda 12-0
By Tim Crane
web posted April 12, 2012

SPORTS – A no hitter is a rarity in baseball, in the big leagues it only happens once every 1600 games on average or approximately twice per year. Perfect games though, by definition when a pitcher allows no opposing batter to reach base, are even much scarcer. There have only been 20 perfect games in Major League Baseball history. I understand that Strom Thurmond High is not the majors, but felt it important to emphasize not only the rarity but the overall excellence of a feat such as this.
