  Drug raids result in drugs, guns, and cash seized web posted May 6, 2008 EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information on the recent drug raids that took place Friday evening that netted a dozen arrests and the confiscation of drugs and weapons. An undisclosed amount of marijuana, crack cocaine, and cocaine were confiscated in the raids the release states in addition to three firearms. Though confirmation of those arrested was not available, a search of arrests made by the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division showed the following twelve names booked by narcotics investigators and the charges or custody orders. A custody order is placed on those who are held until warrants can be issued for the arrest. Arrested were Allison Joyce Underwood, 22; Custody order, Leon Nealous, 53; Open container, Alvin Harold Stevens, Ill, 43; Custody order, Jack Lane Hill, 41; Custody order, William Brice Luchey, 46; Custody order, Calvin El Staley, Jr., 34; Custody order, William Anthony Bryant, 28; Custody order, Jason Eric Turner, 34; Custody order, Robert Theo Johnson, 67; Manufacturer / Distribution cocaine base 3rd offense, attempt and conspiracy to obtain drugs, Ronald O’Neal Mathis, 28; Manufacturer / Distribution cocaine base 2nd offense, attempt and conspiracy to obtain drugs, Mark Anthony Clayton, 45; Open container, Howard Allen Maurer, 48; Manufacturer / Distribution cocaine based drug, 2nd offense, attempt and conspiracy to obtain drugs. Over $1,400 was confiscated at the time of arrests. Additional arrests are expected in the coming days. Sheriff Adell Dobey said, “This is part of the Edgefield County Sheriff’s office continued effort to keep illegal drugs and illegal activity off the streets of Edgefield County.” The raids were conducted after a two-month operation by Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigators in Edgefield County. ©
