  Drug raids net a dozen arrests web posted May 5, 2008 COUNTY – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division, SWAT, Deputies, Edgefield Police Department, and K9 units from Aiken County conducted a series of raids Friday that resulted in a dozen arrests. The raids began early Friday evening after months of investigation by the Edgefield Sheriff’s Narcotics Division and continued into the night. Though the identifications of those arrested were not available at the time of this report, charges were said to range from simple possession of marijuana to a majority in the felony range of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, and distribution of crack cocaine. In all, three locations were raided. The first being a home on the 1900 block of Edgefield Road (Highway 25), then a home on the 100 block of Indian Hill Court, and ending on the 200 block of Gardner Road. An undisclosed amount of drugs were taken into evidence at the time of the arrests as well as at least three vehicles being towed by the Sheriff’s Office. It is unknown at this time if the vehicles were impounded. There were no injuries to officers or suspects during the raids.
