M. Kathryn “Dot” Lewis

TRENTON - Mattie Kathryn “Dot” McCarty Lewis, 99, wife of the late William Richard Lewis of S.E. Diggs Rd., Trenton, SC, entered into rest Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 6, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Trenton, SC.  Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Trenton, SC.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service at the church. The family invites family and friends to join them for refreshments in the church fellowship hall after the interment.
 
Mrs. Lewis was born in Saluda, SC and was the daughter of the late Alexander Pope and Julia Morse McCarty. Mrs. Lewis was a long-time member of Trenton Ebenezer Baptist Church where she participated in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was their oldest member. She and her husband Dick owned and operated the Trenton Variety store, after his death she was funeral home attendant for Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home for 45 years. The family would like to thank Dr. Hugh Morgan and faithful and loving caregivers, Shirley Harrison, Brenda Garcia, Jessica Green, Judy Brown, Toni Kelly, and Pat Smith.
 
Survivors include one son, Charles W. (Trudy Eidson) Lewis; one daughter-in-law, Sue Albright Lewis; one granddaughter Kathryn Eidson Lewis (Stacy) Schultz; two great grandchildren, Frances W., and Geb T. Schultz; one step grandson, Steve Millwood; two step great grandchildren, Jessica, and Tyler Millwood; and many loving relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents; one son, Larry Gene Lewis; two grandsons Charles “Chuck” W. Lewis, Jr., and Larry “Chip” Gene Lewis, Jr., and six siblings.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trenton Ebenezer Baptist Church, PO Box 7, Trenton, SC 29847.

Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
