Minnie Johnson Benson - Retired School Teacher

TRENTON - Minnie Johnson Benson, 58, widow
of Fred D. Benson, entered into eternal rest on Friday evening,
February 15, 2008 at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. A celebration of
her life will be held on today, Monday, February 18, 2008 at 3 p.m.,
Mt. Canaan Baptist Church, Trenton with the Rev. G.L. Brightharp
officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A native of
Trenton, Minnie was a daughter of Beatrice Johnson Mance and the late
Louis Johnson. She was a school teacher in the Edgefield County School
System for 25 years. She was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church,
Trenton. Minnie leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Alfreda
S. Benson, Trenton; her mother, Beatrice J. Mance, Trenton; three
sisters, Beatrice J. (Min. Walter R.) Scott, Johnnelle (Lawrence) Bing,
Trenton, Tippie H. Johnson, North Augusta; four stepsisters, Annette M.
McCain, North Augusta, Betty J. Moseley and LaVerne M. Justice, Aiken,
Doris M. (Reginald) Ritter, Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepbrother, Curtis
(Irene) Mance, Aiken; three sisters-in-law, Eliza Grant, Sallie Smith,
Hopkins, S.C. and Elnora Benson of Washington, D.C.; one
brother-in-law, William E. Reynolds; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions should be made to Mt. Canaan Baptist Church
Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) 2451 Edgefield Road, Trenton,
S.C. 29847. Friends may call at the residence, 1975 Edgefield Road,
Trenton or after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. G.L. Brightharp
