NORTH AUGUSTA - Choices Ltd., a 501 c3 non-profit organization, will host a Winter Scholarship Gala fundraiser on Saturday December 29th, 2018 from 6pm - 10pm.   The formal/professional attire affair will be held at the North Augusta Municipal Building on 100 Georgia Avenue.

In addition to their goal of  raising  five, $1000 scholarships for CSRA high school students, they will also be honoring five "Community Heros" from the areas of education, entrepreneurship, government, and mentorship.  Being honored this year are, Mrs Gail Graham- Community/Family Wellness Advocate; Dr Jackie Glover-Kennion-STHS Cosmetology Instructor; Mrs Jamie Powell-North Augusta Music Director; Ms.. Velice Cummings-94.7 Radio Host; Mrs. Linda Harmon-Retired Early Consumer Science  Instructor; and Mrs. Coshendra Jackson- Youth/Women Advocacy and Mentoring.

Each year CHOICES A- LifeTime Development, also known as CHOICES LTD, awards several deserving graduatng seniors with Scholarships ranging from $500.00-$1500.00 over the past 20 years.  The Winter Gala is an event that will help fund these scholarships and other programs throughout the year.

The organization, ran by Mr. Errol Thomas and his wife Sabrina, was founded in 1999 and has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to local youth.  "It is our desire to help guide the youth of today to being better leaders in their schools and community.  It is also our hope that as these young people gain momentum to be better leaders in their community, that they will continue their education and pursue careers that will return them to our area as business owners, educators, politicians, and mentors, that will allow them to help someone else do the same.", say Errol and Sabrina.

An Edgefield County native, Mr. Thomas currently teaches math and science at Columbia Middle School, in Grovetown, Georgia.  Last year he was awarded the Order of the Silver Crescent by South Carolina governor, Henry McMaster for his efforts in helping young people.  Several people touched by Choices Ltd. went on to NFL careers, including Matt Hazel, Antonio Hamilton, and Jakar Hamilton.  Naval officer, Tre'ves Bush, is another young man who appreciates the positive impact the Thomases organization had on him.

Individual tickets for the event are $75 and include appetizers, social hour, and dinner.  Music is scheduled for the affair.  Businesses or individuals can opt for one of five different levels of sponsorship, ranging from $300-$1500.  These sponsorships include perks such as tickets to the scholarship program, ads in the program booklet, tickets to the Winter Gala, and all-event name recognition.

Tickets can be purchased online through their website (under the events tab), at www.choicesltd.net.  Traditional hardcopy tickets can be purchased by emailing them at choicesltd2003@gmail.com, or by calling them 803 646 6048. All proceeds will be used to award Scholarships to a select number of deserving students in achieving their dreams of earning college degrees.
