Repo goes wrong, one man sent to MCG

web posted December 1, 2009
MURPHY VILLAGE – A repossession went terribly wrong Monday morning after the truck being repossessed was rammed from behind by another truck driven by the father of the owner. The collision caused the driver to lose control and he rolled the truck several times around 10 am. When Merriwether First Responders arrived on the scene they reported the diver suffering from injuries and was outside of the overturned Dodge Ram truck.

The man was immobilized on a backboard while complaining of multiple injuries. He was loaded into an awaiting ambulance from Aiken County EMS since Edgefield County units were answering other calls, including a transport from another wreck in Merriwether.

He was taken to MCG for treatment of his injuries. His condition was not available.

Edgefield County Sheriff’s Deputies photographed the scene as the South Carolina Highway Patrol arrived to investigate the collision.

The driver of the second truck was cited in the crash. It is unknown at this time if criminal charges will be filed in the case.
