Second Annual Santa Craft Show Coming December 15th

web posted November 29, 2018

MERRIWETHER -  Be prepared for a day of festive family fun on December 15th, from 10 am to 3 pm.  The Santa Craft Show will be held at the Merriwether Community Center located at 1879  W. Martintown Road North Augusta S.C. 29860.  The event will be held rain or shine. Santa will be there from 11 until 2 with gift bags for the kids (all free).  Try your luck by signing up for some of the raffles, but if you don't win, you're still in luck because there will be 20 vendors ready to sell handcrafted, ready-to-gift items, perfect for Christmas or maybe even yourself.

"Last year's show was so well received, that we wanted to bring it back again", said organizer, Mandy Whatley Owen.  "This is a great way to not only spend time with your family, but a great way to skip all the mall and city traffic while shopping local and supporting local businesses and families", she added.

All of the organizer's funds are returned to the event to pay for the gift bags, special appearances, and overhead costs.  Any remaining monies are donated to local charities.  "This is just a special thing that I like to do for the community that I grew up in",  remarked Mrs. Owen.  She has an impressive lists of vendors for this year's event.  See their Facebook page at; 2nd Annual Santa Craft Show.

Richard Jordan with Lighting Your Way will be on hand with his hand-painted stained glass lamps.  Kristi Cook with Honestly Sweet will have her hand-crafted jewelry on display as well.  She also has essential oil diffuser jewelry.

New vendor, Catherine Easie with Pretty Gal Bags will have bags and accessories for every member of the family.  Also new this year is Karen Rowell, who features hand-painted Christmas ornaments in her, Painted From the Heart boutique..  She will even do custom ornaments on site!  Another new vendor is LARP Fairies. They have unique crafted crotchet items, plus jewelry. They will be the ones dressed as fairies, so they will be easy to spot.

Eclectic Farmhouse Dream Finds, owner Beth Anne Chesnut Fillingim has some gorgeous southern farmhouse decor perfect for that farm house lover you have to buy for this Christmas or maybe even decorate your home for a welcoming look when family and friends come over.

Joey's Forged Handmade Knives will be joining Santa's Craft Show for the first time.  Unfortunately, Joey himself will be unable to make it, but you can still swing by and meet his business partner Scott and Joey's son, Matt.  You may recall Joey was a contestant on the History Channel's, "Forged In Fire".

Returning vendor, Daisy Guzman owner of Jazzy Khaos Crafts will be there with the cutest hair bows in town.  Every little girl needs one.  It would be the perfect touch right before a picture with Santa.  Honestly Sweet Gifts owner, Kristi Cook is happy to be a part of the show.

Elizabeth Blanchard with DB Vinyls will have great pre-made gift items, shirts, ornaments and more.  Voted one of the CSRA's best, Bella Bruce with W.L.J Angel Gowns will be back at this year's show!  Bella has spent so much time and effort to build this non-profit organization which supports families with infant loss.

Kelly Denise Cline owner of Honeys Gifts & More has some of the cutest items.  She will be featuring embroidered crafts, and more.  Farmer Anne Walden owner of Anne's Country Cupboard  is returning with all your soap desires for everyone in the family, right down to your four legged friends!  She also has a wonderful new line of household items, and candles.

Monica Kubicz, owner of For the Love of Frosting, will join us again this year.  Her cupcakes were the rage at the first show.  Speaking of tasty treats, Haley Hutto will have homemade pound cakes, whole or slices.  Word is that it's an old family recipe.  Mr. Larry Lamb will also have boiled peanuts, kettle corn, and drinks for your snacking pleasure.

Show organizer, Mandy Whatley Owen says that the show is partnering with Still Standing Ministries, who will be collecting items for the homeless. This year, Still Standing Ministries will be making Christmas Blessings bags for the homeless in the area.

Still Standing Ministries accepts any food items to make meals as they serve hot meals at least 4 times a week and bag lunches the rest of the week.  Donations are always welcomed and we know that they are in need of snack/packaged foods, Ziploc bags, hygiene items, blankets, and canned goods. Stop by and speak to them to see how they are making a difference in the area.
