Friend alerts owner of stolen motorcycle web posted July 20, 2010 MERRIWETHER – A Mill Creek Drive resident called the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office to report his 2002 Yamaha R6 motorcycle stolen Sunday afternoon. The owner did not know the motorcycle was missing until a friend called him from Augusta to say that they saw someone riding the bike on the corner of Deans Bridge Road and the Gordon Highway. That is when the owner went out and discovered the bike missing. The owner told the deputy that he left the key in the ignition at his home and the red and black Yamaha had a matching helmet that was also taken. The motorcycle, which was just recently purchased, still had the paper dealer tag affixed. There was no suspect description available in official reports.
