Sheriff’s Investigators continue to seek suspect in Eagle Road murder
web posted July 20, 2010
MERRIWETHER – Just over a week since the murder of
28-year-old Larry D. Sanders Jr. early Saturday morning at his Eagle
Road home on July 10, Edgefield County Sheriff’s Investigators are
still chasing possible leads in the case, but have nothing new to
report. Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Randy Doran said that no new
information is available for release at this time and the investigation
continues in earnest.
Investigators are still looking for suspects in
the case but have not narrowed their investigation towards any
particular person or persons.
All of the evidence collected at the crime scene by the Edgefield
County Crime Scene Investigator and the Sheriff’s CSI Unit was turned
over to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) last week
for additional processing in hopes of narrowing the search of a
possible suspect.
Those results have not been completed at this time.
Inv. Doran said that at this time there is no additional information
that could be released and that any definitive information would be
made available to area media when it was possible.
One thing working in the favor of the Sheriff’s Office is that every
murder in the last decade has been solved and a suspect charged by the
Investigative Division.
