Merriwether Middle School Earns Rating of Excellent

web posted January 25, 2019

012519mmsMERRIWETHER - Merriwether Middle School is pleased to announce that in November they received a rating of “Excellent” on their state report card for the 2017-2018 school year.

According to the SC Department of Education, the rating of “Excellent” means that, “School performance substantially exceeds the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of the SC Graduate.” The rating of “Excellent” on the state report card also means that MMS students scored within the top 15% of all students in the state of South Carolina on the end of the year testing for SCReady and SCPASS. SCReady and SCPASS assess students in the subject areas of writing, language arts, reading, math, science, and social studies.
“MMS is very proud of such an amazing accomplishment. We want to thank our students and staff for all of the hard work they put in to make this happen. MMS also wants to thank parents for having their children so well prepared for this test. MMS looks to continue to work hard to achieve great things for our students,” shared Derek Forrest, principal.
