J-E-T Middle School’s Mock Trial Team Prepares For State Competition

web posted November 24, 2018

112418JETJOHNSTON - Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School’s (J-E-T) mock trial team competed in their region competition Saturday, November, 10th. Out of twelve teams in their region, J-E-T’s team placed in the top three which guarantees them a spot for state competition in Columbia on November, 30th and December 1, 2018.

At state competition, J-E-T’s team will compete again eleven other teams from across the state. “Our students did extremely well and are super excited about state competition,” said Allison Rawls, mathematics educator, sponsor for the mock trial team.

This year, Denise Jackson, educator in the Edgefield County School District, as well as Blair Massey has been helping the team prepare all year. “We are so thankful for both Ms. Jackson and Mrs. Massey, the students really take in all of their coaching and guidance and it has paid off,” said Shirley Tillman, social studies educator and sponsor of the mock trial.

The 2018- 2019 mock trial team of J-E-T Middle School: Jared Bedenbaugh, Grace Viseth, Logan Gill, Sophie Love, Carolina King, Jari Smith, Addison Temples, Lily Laham, Thomas Jolly, Jocelyn Temples, Erin Williams, and Devajae Cheatham.
