posted May 7, 2008
JOHNSTON – The Edgefield County Chamber of
Commerce will sponsor the Annual Women In Business Luncheon on Friday,
June 6th at Pine Ridge Country Club beginning at 10:00 a.m. and
concluding at 1:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by Aiken Regional
Hospital.
This year the luncheon will carry a theme of Put The “U” in
Fabulous. Along with the women’s health fair expo an exciting
session featuring a complete make-over and fashion show will be
sponsored. Also, several new exhibits featuring fitness, cooking,
gardening, hair care, nail care and financial awareness will be on hand
for attendees to enjoy.
The highlight of the luncheon each year is the announcement of Business
Woman of the Year. This year’s event is proud to add the addition of
Young Woman of the Year as a part of the recognition. This award
honors female residents of Edgefield County who have made significant,
unique and lasting contributions in the community, workplace or school
to further the interest of women and families and have acted as role
models of achievement for other women, or who have otherwise enhanced
the lives of the citizens of Edgefield County. Nominees for “Young
Woman of the Year” must be a high school student or present college
student of Edgefield County. The nomination forms for each award can be
found in this week’s edition of the newspapers.
Nomination forms are also available at The Edgefield County Chamber of
Commerce Office, 416 Calhoun Street, Johnston. Citizens are encouraged
to nominate women for each category. Deadline to submit your nomination
is May 30th.
Tickets for the program can be obtained from the Edgefield County
Chamber of Commerce Office (803) 275-0010 or from any Chamber member.
Cost for the event is $15.00 which will include lunch. Make plans to
take time to put the “U” in Fabulous and be on hand to congratulate
Edgefield County’s Business Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the
Year.
