  Peach Blossom Festival draws record crowd web posted May 6, 2008 JOHNSTON – The Johnston Peach Blossom Festival was held Saturday and kicked off the festivities with the 11 am parade that featured dozens of entries and beauty queens as well as local dignitaries. Below is a photo essay of the event. Some said this was the largest turnout in recent years estimating the crowd into the thousands. The parade was led by local youths carrying the banner for the Parade.  The Strom Thurmond Marching Band entertained the crowds.  Grand Marshall Jackie Boatwright.  District 25 Senate candidates Sen. Shane Massey and Greg Anderson take time out to shake hands while campaigning.  ©
