A New Brand For Edgefield County

web posted October 26, 2018

102618ECLogoEDGEFIELD - You may see new signs that say EC going up in Edgefield County.

Edgefield County is implementing a one of a kind branding package for Edgefield County that will readily identify the County and promote the family friendly lifestyle that it has to offer. Edgefield County contracted with the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor (SCNHC) team in February for the development of this brand.  The branding project included an online survey with 130 participants and 152 key stakeholders invited to group sessions.

The new EC logo is designed in natural tones that lends itself to the natural resources of Edgefield County. Peaches, pottery, architecture, pine forests, turkeys, and magnolias were identified as being representative of Edgefield County’s history, recreation, and lifestyle and are incorporated within the design.

“Edgefield County is growing and is on the verge of inevitable greater growth,” said Edgefield County Council Chairman Dean Campbell. “This branding initiative is one part of a strategic effort to plan ahead for that growth. The goal of this initiative is to help the Edgefield County community decide on a united identity that can both bring the various individual communities together under one Edgefield County identity as well as guide us to the future we desire.”

The brand also includes the phrase, “It feels different here because it is different here.” County Administrator Tommy Paradise stated that “this phrase catches the essence expressed during the public input sessions. This phrase with visual imaginary captures the rural charm, family values, and southern manners that makes Edgefield County such a special place.”
