Pit bulls kill 14 chickens on neighbor’s property
web posted July 20, 2010
EDGEFIELD – A Cleveland Road woman called the
Sheriff’s Office to report a neighbor’s pit bulls attacking and killing
14 of her chickens in an attack Saturday evening. The woman told the
responding Sheriff’s Deputy that she recognized the dogs as belonging
to her neighbor. He was not at home at the time his dogs were said to
be seen killing the woman’s chickens.
The woman was able to give descriptions of the two dogs, which matched
those of her neighbor and they were found in the aera.
According to an incident report filed in the case, the deputy reported
the woman had piled the dead hens on the front steps of her neighbor’s
home, which was photographed.
The owner of the dogs returned and spoke with the deputy and stated
that he has already found someone to take one of the pit bulls and
agreed to replace the hens that had been killed.
No charges were filed in the case and the investigation was closed, the
report stated.
