Edgefield County Holds Annual Intergovernmental Meeting

EDGEFIELD - Edgefield Countyís annual Intergovernmental Meeting was held at the Edgefield County Senior Citizens Center on January 29. The meeting is held each year so many of the governmental entities can share what they achieved in 2018 and their plans for 2019.

The meeting, sponsored by
the Edgefield County Council, started at 5:30 p.m. Council Chairman Scott Cooper welcomed attendees and made introductory remarks around 6:15 p.m. Then, from 6:25 pm to 7:30 pm, attendees received updates from 11 speakers.

They included Johnston Mayor Terrence Culbreath and Edgefield County Hospital Hospital Board Chair Connie Sutton, and Town Administrator Roger LeDuc will discuss matters involving Trenton and Edgefield.

Also speaking to the group was the Edgefield County School Districtís Superintendent Dr. Robert Maddox, Edgefield County Transportation Committee Chairman Sam Crouch Jr., Edgefield County Planning Commission Chairman Fab Burt, and Edgefield County Water & Sewer Authority General Manager John Hare.

In addition, Rep. Bill Hixon addressed the group. Senator Massey and Rep. Bill Clyburn were both attending Senate and House Committee meetings and were unable to attend.
