Swingin Medallions to perform at Aiken Fundraiser Friday

web posted January 17, 2008
AIKEN – The Swingin Medallions will be performing Friday night at the Woodside Plantation Clubhouse for a benefit for the Aiken-Saluda Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillion College Scholarship fund. Robbie Cox of the Swingin Medallions said the Greenwood based band is always happy to help out with a charity event.

The concert will be from 8 – 12 pm Friday night and tickets are available at the door and a cash bar will be offered. Visa and MasterCard is accepted.

Swingin Medallions member Cox said the group was founded in 1962 and plays at between 150 and 175 venues a year. “Most of them are generally in the Southeast,” from North Carolina to Alabama, including Florida.

The public is invited to attend the concert and enjoy great music while helping a worthwhile cause.
